About Me.
Painter, Illustrator, and printmaker, Megan J. Goff (She/They), was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and classically trained in traditional painting techniques since the age of 12. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated with her BFA and a newfound love of printmaking and comics. Megan first began attending conventions in 2013 and set her sights on delivering high-quality fan art to her fellow nerds. She uses her keen eye for color theory, value, and composition to create vibrant, detailed, and textured illustrations for all ages.
Hello!
Wabidrawbi stems from the traditional Japanese aesthetic of embracing the art of imperfection, "Wabi-Sabi". Wabi-Sabi reminds us of our natural flaws and how to find beauty in imperfections. I strive to adopt this ideology in my art-making, accepting the flow of process, and the natural direction of my mind and hand while allowing me to make and fix mistakes. Children's stories such as Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, and Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland are some of my biggest inspirations. I recall my childhood through renditions of whimsical creatures, fantastical worlds, and sentimental stories. What worlds can we create and immerse ourselves in?
